Occupations are things we both need and want to do. Occupational Therapists are experts in improving function. Occupational therapy is a holistic and collaborative approach that considers your physical, mental, sensory and emotional health. It also examines the environment and how that impacts on your ability to carry out activities.

What types of conditions or diagnosis do you treat?
While a diagnosis can be helpful for treatment, it is not required. Occupational Therapists take time to listen what your concerns are and what you’re having difficulty with and come up with a plan to work toward your goal(s).
When to seek out an Occupational Therapist?

There are many reasons someone might seek out an Occupational Therapist If a health condition, accident, injury, or disease has made it hard for you to take part in daily activities, occupational therapy may help you recover and maintain skills for everyday life.

Do I Need a doctors referral to see an Occupational Therapist?

You do not need a doctors referral to see an Occupational Therapist. However if you have insurance coverage you may require certain documentation so it is good to check your insurance coverage prior to making an appointment.

What occupational therapists do and don’t do
Occupational therapists work with people to develop, recover or maintain skills for daily living and work. They work with doctors, nurses and other health care and social work professionals. Their focus is helping people re-engage with activities that are essential to their quality of life.
The unique expertise of occupational therapists is to analyze what people do and what they want or need to do, and help them to do it. Occupational therapists co-create approaches with their clients.
They are mindful of people’s rights, needs, preferences, values, abilities, and environments. They work with clients to support their health and well-being.
  • Help people resume or maintain participation in everyday life.
  • Take a client-centered approach to co-create solutions.
  • Are trained in mental health.
  • Are able to perform psychotherapy.

Do you offer services for children, adults, or both?
At this time, Occupational Therapy services are available for adolscents, adults and geriatrics. 
What if I want to change occupational therapists?

At any time, you can ask to stop services. The consequences of this decision will vary based on many factors, including the system that your occupational therapist is working in. However, if you have chosen your occupational therapist and hired them on your own, changing providers is your choice. 

Before deciding to change your occupational therapist,  consider speaking with them to see if any challenges can be resolved.

How do I book an appointment?

Where are your services offered (in-office, in-home, virtual)?
Services are typically offered in your home or may involve meeting in the community. Services are also virtually and an office space can be arranged if required.
How long does a typical session last?
The amount of time in session depends on the type of treatment being provided. Reach out to discuss what your treatment might look like.

What is the cost of treatment?
The cost of assessment and treatment varies depending on the service, reach out for a quote.
Why do we have a cancellation policy?

Your appointment is a time that is set specifically for you and your treatment plan. Missed appointments or late cancellations affect your therapist and those that could have used your appointment time for their care, hence why we enforce a strict 24–48 hour cancellation policy. 

Consideration will be given for emergency situations such as severe illness, hospitalization or personal/family crisis.
